Here is some great American music. Throughout the summer we are celebrating the life of the American Composer, critic and author, Virgil Thomson. His songs can be mesmerizing, although they can also be quirky. Or whimsical. His friend Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring is one of the great American musical works. Written for a ballet by Martha Graham, it continues to be one of the most played and enjoyed works of the last hundred years.
