The English Musical Splendor concert tour featuring the Yale Philharmonia, Yale Schola Cantorum, and the Bach Choir, London has been cancelled due to concerns related to COVID-19.

In celebration of the Yale School of Music’s 125th anniversary, the Yale Philharmonia joins the Yale Schola Cantorum and The Bach Choir, London for English Musical Splendor, a program that will be performed in celebrated venues in five East Coast cities. David Hill, principal conductor of the Yale Schola Cantorum and The Bach Choir, will lead the ensembles in a performance of William Walton’s arresting oratorio Belshazzar’s Feast and music by Arnold Bax, Charles Villiers Stanford, and Ralph Vaughan Williams. Baritone David Pershall ’10MM ’11AD and School of Music Dean and faculty pianist Robert Blocker are the program’s soloists.
